Acoustics tackles clients’ problems with a comprehensive range of acoustic
services, based on the national and international experience of highly
experienced acoustics specialists.
For any given project our objective is to prevent noise nuisance. The
firm establishes levels of noise and vibration, compares these to relevant
standards or guidelines such PPG24/WHO and, where necessary,
define appropriate mitigation to provide compliance with the criteria.
We are able to assist on the following:
- Development: We support a number of major developers
with planning applications associated with housing, retail and commercial
sectors. Advice is also given on the development of schools, hospitals,
car parks etc. These types of assessment may include the application
of Planning Policy Guidance 24 (PPG24) ‘Planning & Noise’, WHO guidance
and Building Bulletin 93 (BB93).
- Transportation: We are able to assist on the evaluation
of impacts due to roads, railways, light railways, civil and military
aircraft and helicopters, and public transport studies on existing
or proposed residential/commercial developments.
- Industry: We are able to provide remedial and retro-fit
solutions where necessary to help industrial type activities exist
along side noise sensitive neighbours. We can also provide reports
for the purposes of the Noise at Work assessments including whole
body and hand-arm vibration.
- Construction: We can assist in the production
of prior consents, site controls and contract conditions for constructions
from general construction activity or demolition, piling etc. We can
also help to design noise insulation and advise on vibration issues
- Building acoustics: We are able to undertake sound
insulation testing in support of the Building Regulations and assist
architects on sound transmission and insulation. All consultancy services
